A familiar presence entered the room as Kikyou as lifted a cup of tea to her lips. The ends of her lips pulled upwards into the most subtle of smiles before she sipped her drink.

"Now who would miss you~? Pretty much everyone in House of Lamentation celebrated your absence", the ravenette replied, lowering her cup down. Chocolate hues shimmered with mirth and fondness as she tilted her head back to properly gaze up at him from her seat. Silken dark hair sliding down the seat.

"But seeing as I reside at Purgatory Hall, I suppose it does exclude me." A hand lifted and stretched backwards until it connected with Lucifer's abdomen. Her hand slowly rose until it stopped as close to, if not over, his heart as possible.

"I missed you every single day, every night and even in my dreams. I believe I will take a card out of Mammon's playbook, so how will you rectify that?" Slowly rising to her feet, the woman turned to now properly face her beloved. A hand returned to brazenly laying over his heart, mocha hues looking into his sanguine colored optics.

🏹 Those words brought a conflict of emotions that she did not dare show--grief, happiness, pain to name a few. It would be a fabrication on her part, if she stated she did not wish or want that. Hence, Kikyou's features were smooth and impassive while her heart quietly ached.

"..You know that cannot be." For a variety of reasons. "It is better for all, that we continue to walk our separate paths. My road will only end one way." That is in death and hell, along with Naraku. It was suitable..for one such as herself. The very least she could do for this world..was fix her mistakes while simultaneously getting her revenge.

Plus, Inuyasha has suffered enough. Undoubtedly the broken road she walked on..was filled with thorns, sharpened rocks, brambles as well as, all manner of filth and wretchedness. He did not belong in the darkness, where the undead freely walked.

Mocha hues flickered away from the brothers' homework she was reviewing, to alight upon the eldest for the briefest of moments. All too soon, they returned to the work at hand, not a word uttered. Yet. Even if she were to speak, the woman was not certain what to say; hence silence was best.

It certainly seemed like it has been quite some time since Kikyou had spent time with the Avatar of Pride. It was understandable, given how incredibly busy they were--more so Lucifer. All one could do was be patient and understanding, even if their schedules made it..a bit lonesome at times. It was not like the woman was unfamiliar with the sensation. It simply was a different type of loneliness that one may experience when single. And again, the cause of it was no one's fault.

However, it did sometimes leave her wondering about the concept of time and how it worked differently for the pair.

A hand abandoned the pencil in hand, in favor of drifting down to gently brush strands of silken, obsidian locks from a perfect visage before idly slipping and combing through it.

He certainly lived up to the title of the most beautiful, even in Devildom. His feature, while attractive, was not what had lured the woman. It was just a sliver of all that he was, is and could be. His heart, mind and personality were more valuable. The way he fiercely protected his brothers, his perceptiveness, intellect, strength of character and prowess..his steadfastness were some of the things she perceived, accepted and appreciated. Even his flaws were not lost to her piercing gaze and yet, she accepted them too.

His presence and warmth had been sorely missed, for it also brought comfort. It permitted her to lower her guard and relax, to unwind in a place not favorable to someone like herself--be it the residents or the energy itself.

"By you coming here, I hope you realize I am not letting you go anytime soon.", she finally stated, amusement, love and a promise weaved into her tone. Putting down the papers, she finally looked down at him squarely. Lips tugged into a light smirk of mischief.

"You are all mine..at least for the next hour or so--or unless someone interrupts us."

📖 "......." It would seem that Lucifer had overheard him after all. It was remarkable how acute his hearing could be--then again, they do say that owners take after their dogs. Maybe he and Cerberus had more in common than he thought. As ridiculous as the thought was, it amused the sorcerer all the same.
